Making your own cake at home may sound a little too much to do. Some of you might prefer buying them at your favorite cake shop. But with this easy to make recipe, you can make 20 pieces of sweet caramel tarts all by yourself. You only need 6 very basic, easy to find ingredients that won't cost you as much.
Let's get started with the cookies. You will need a food processor in order to get that fine crumbles, but if you don't have one just use a plastic bag and smash them manually. You need to make them as tiny crumbs as possible, don't let there be big chunks of cookie remaining because that will make your base hard to stick. Freezing them more than 2 hours also helps to maintain them firm.
For the caramel sauce, it's important to remember that you don't need to stir the sugar and water when put on heat. Just let the sugar melts itself and turn of the heat when the color turns amber brown. When you pour in the heavy cream, carefully and very gently mix them together until it thickens. Don't let it rest to long, you need to hurry and pour the caramel into the cookie crust before it hardens. Do the same thing for the chocolate after the caramel sauce hardens. For the sprinkles, you can use replace the sea salt with powdered sugar if you like extra sweetness. Enjoy!
