Seller provides this information: Rich and fragrant, this fruitcake is baked by Trappist monks at Assumption Abbey, nestled in the foothills of the Missouri Ozarks. Based on a recipe developed by French chef Jean-Pierre Augé, who was once employed by the duke and duchess of Windsor, this dark, spicy cake has a deep, rich flavor and moist crumb. Laced with an ounce of rum, its proof of just how delicious a fruitcake can be!

Do you know this? Fruitcake is typically made with chopped candied and dried fruit (cherries, dates, pineapple, etc.) and sometimes nuts (walnuts, pecans, etc.), it is then soaked in spirits (usually rum) (from Eating The Road). Sure dried fruit, when unsweetened and eaten in moderation, can be a good way to get antioxidants and fiber, and nuts are a tasty way to get some healthy fats and protein, but BEWARE: Fruitcake can be high in calories and fat, outweighing any benefits of the individual ingredients (from Healthy Dining Finder).
